Black Bean is my husband’s favorite. The following is something I shared on his birthday a few years ago:
For 20 years, in everything I have done, gone through, worked towards, created… the most humble, loving, and supportive person stood beside me. More than stood beside me, he makes me stronger and has loved me through it all.
When I don’t have ‘fun’ in me to give, he makes life ‘fun’ for the kids.
When the time came for my mom to move in with us, he agreed it was the right thing to do.
He has unwavering love and acceptance for his three children.
The conversations he has had with our children are so important and filled with love. I am truly so very fortunate to have him in my life at all, let alone the love of my life.
When I make Black Bean, I thank the sweet soul I stand beside during this journey we call life and stir up his favorite soup…
